Ernst Zoberbier, born in 1893, was a German painter whose career encompassed both commercial art and romantic fine art. Educated at art schools in Magdeburg, Berlin, and Leipzig, he settled in Wiesbaden in 1913, where he worked primarily as a newspaper illustrator and poster artist. Zoberbier produced etchings with industrial themes and posters for brands like Opel, blending technical precision with expressive line work. His personal artwork, however, reflected a softer side, featuring landscapes and allegorical scenes. His reputation as a painter flourished during the Third Reich, securing his place in German art history as both a commercial illustrator and a romantic painter.
