The 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage by Niels van Roij Design is a one-off coachbuilt grand tourer inspired by the famous 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Shooting Brake. Rather than creating a direct replica, the Dutch design studio reinterpreted the original car with new aluminum bodywork, a distinctive shooting brake roof and a handcrafted interior.
More than 15,000 hours went into the project. Only the doors remain from the donor Ferrari 599 GTB, while virtually every other exterior panel was redesigned.
A Modern Daytona Shooting Brake
The biggest change is the long shooting brake rear section. The new body is hand-formed from aluminum and features a sweeping roofline that gives the car a completely different profile from the original coupe.
One of its most distinctive features is the pair of butterfly-style side windows, which lift upward to provide access to the luggage compartment. The rear cargo area has two floor levels finished with carbon fiber and aluminum rails, combining practical storage with the appearance of a custom luxury GT.
Unique headlights and taillights were also developed for the car, while the rear features four large exhaust outlets integrated into a carbon fiber diffuser.
Handcrafted Cognac Leather Interior
The cabin was redesigned to reference the original 1972 shooting brake while keeping the basic architecture of its modern donor car. Cognac-colored leather covers the seats, dashboard, headliner, doors and luggage compartment, while carbon fiber replaces more traditional wood trim.
The instrument cluster has also been moved toward the center of the dashboard as a reference to the original Daytona Shooting Brake. CNC-machined aluminum luggage rails and custom straps continue the coachbuilt look in the cargo area.
Naturally Aspirated V12 Power
Niels van Roij Design has not released official performance specifications for the Hommage. The donor Ferrari 599 GTB, however, uses a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12 producing 620 hp and 608 Nm of torque.
In standard 599 GTB form, that engine is paired with a six-speed automated transmission and rear-wheel drive. The Ferrari can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in about 3.7 seconds and reach more than 330 km/h. The studio has not confirmed whether those specifications remain unchanged in the finished Hommage.

Inspired by the 1972 Ferrari Daytona Shooting Brake
The project pays tribute to the unique 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Shooting Brake, but it was intentionally designed as an homage rather than a copy. Its proportions, unusual rear glass treatment and interior details reference the historic car while using modern materials and construction techniques.
The 2026 Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage will remain a one-off. Niels van Roij Design has not announced plans for a second example, although the studio can create other bespoke shooting brakes and coachbuilt vehicles for individual clients.
With its hand-built aluminum body, naturally aspirated V12 foundation and highly detailed interior, the Daytona Shooting Brake Hommage is a modern interpretation of one of the most unusual Ferrari-based coachbuilt cars ever made.
