The Impact was built on a Ford Sierra XR 4x4 chassis and designed to be the next generation of compact 4x4. Practical aspects include 27 cubic feet of luggage space, with an additional 12 added when the rear seats are removed. The sunroof was electronically controlled and completely removable. The car was also aerodynamic to help reduce drag and increase fuel efficiency.
