The 2026 Totem GT Electric Zeal 01 represents a focused return to electrification for Totem Automobili, combining classic Italian design with modern EV performance. Commissioned by a private collector in California, this one-off build is based on the iconic Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT, reengineered with a fully electric drivetrain producing approximately 590 horsepower. The result is a high-performance restomod that maintains the proportions and character of the original while delivering contemporary acceleration and efficiency.

Founded in 2018 by entrepreneur Riccardo Quaggio, Totem Automobili built its reputation on reimagining vintage Alfa Romeo platforms with modern engineering. Early projects included both combustion and electric variants of the Giulia Sprint GT, though subsequent models like the Totem GT Super and GTAmodificata leaned heavily toward high-output V6 powertrains. The Zeal 01 marks a deliberate shift back to electric propulsion, aligning with broader industry trends while preserving the brand’s handcrafted, low-volume approach.

Visually, the Zeal 01 stands out through its meticulous attention to color and finish. The body is coated in a bespoke Azzurro Pervinca paint, applied in a three-layer process to achieve depth and clarity. Matte gold accents are integrated throughout the exterior, including the headlight surrounds, window trim, signature triangular grille, mirrors, and even the windshield wipers. Matching wheels and blue Brembo brake calipers with gold lettering reinforce the cohesive design language, balancing heritage cues with a more contemporary aesthetic.

The interior of the Zeal 01 reflects a similar level of craftsmanship, with an emphasis on premium materials and bespoke detailing. The cabin is trimmed extensively in blue and cream nappa leather, covering the seats, dashboard, doors, and transmission tunnel. Carbon fiber components with a distinctive weave pattern are used across structural elements, including the steering column and door panels. Matte gold accents are applied to the custom instrument cluster, while a three-spoke steering wheel wrapped in blue leather adds a tactile, driver-focused element. Lightweight Sabelt seats with carbon fiber frames feature unique fabric inserts, further elevating the interior’s bespoke character.

Performance is defined by a rear-mounted electric motor delivering roughly 598 horsepower, enabling the coupe to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in approximately 2.9 seconds. The battery capacity has not been disclosed, but Totem estimates a driving range of up to 482 kilometers (300 miles) on a single charge. Supporting this setup is an electronically controlled suspension system developed in collaboration with ORAM, designed to balance comfort with precise handling characteristics.

As a commissioned build, the Totem GT Electric Zeal 01 is not intended for mass production. Instead, it serves as a technical and design statement, demonstrating how classic automotive platforms can be reinterpreted through electrification without losing their original identity. For collectors and enthusiasts, it represents a niche but increasingly relevant segment of the market, where heritage, performance, and sustainability intersect.
