The 2006 Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina was a one-off Ferrari built for collector James Glickenhaus. It started as an Enzo Ferrari, but Pininfarina completely rebodied it into a modern tribute to Ferrari’s 1960s P-series sports prototypes, especially the 330 P3/4 and 330 P4.

The design was led at Pininfarina by Jason Castriota. Instead of copying the old race cars directly, the P4/5 used their major visual ideas in a modern shape: rounded front fenders, a low nose, flying buttresses, a bubble-like canopy, exposed rear detailing, and a much smoother body than the angular Enzo. More than 200 components were made specifically for the car, and the body was built entirely from carbon fiber.

Mechanically, it kept the Enzo’s core hardware. That meant a 6.0-liter naturally aspirated Ferrari V12, a 6-speed automated manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive, carbon-ceramic brakes, and pushrod suspension. Output is generally listed around 660 PS, or about 650–652 hp, depending on whether the source uses metric or mechanical horsepower.

The P4/5 was lighter than the Enzo, with a reported weight around 1,200 kg / 2,645 lb. Pininfarina’s wind-tunnel work also improved the aero balance, with lower drag than the Enzo while keeping strong downforce. The reported drag coefficient was 0.34, and Pininfarina estimated a possible 225 mph top speed with taller gearing.

Performance was serious, but the car’s importance was not just speed. The P4/5 proved that modern coachbuilding could still work at the highest level. It was not an aftermarket body kit or a replica. It was an officially recognized Ferrari one-off, wearing Ferrari badging and carrying the name Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina after approval from Luca di Montezemolo.

The car debuted publicly at the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and became one of the most famous modern one-off Ferraris. It mattered because it connected three eras at once: Ferrari’s 1960s endurance-racing design language, the Enzo’s early-2000s engineering, and the modern return of ultra-personal coachbuilt supercars.
