The 2004 Volvo V50 SV Concept was a high-performance one-off build unveiled at the SEMA Show. Based on Volvo’s compact V50 sports wagon, the SV Concept packed a 2.5-liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, tuned to produce 340 horsepower.
Paired with a close-ratio 6-speed gearbox, the V50 SV was a significant departure from Volvo’s typically restrained approach, showcasing the brand’s potential for sportier, high-powered wagons. Though it remained a SEMA-exclusive concept, it demonstrated Volvo’s engineering flexibility and willingness to explore performance-oriented designs beyond its traditional lineup.
