2024 Citroën Basalt Vision Concept

Citroën has unveiled the Basalt Vision concept, offering a glimpse into the future of the brand's lineup in India and South America, with a planned release in the second half of 2024. Positioned as a compact coupe SUV, the Basalt Vision aims to embody a harmonious blend of automotive design elements, combining the dynamic flair of a coupe, the ruggedness of an SUV, and the practicality of a five-door sedan.

Designed to cater to the diverse needs of customers in these markets, the Basalt Vision concept showcases a confident stance, characterized by its high ground clearance, bold lines, and distinctive black wheel arches. The concept's exterior design exudes a sense of robustness and modernity, with a coupe-like rear end that culminates in a pair of taillights reminiscent of the Citroën e-C3.

Underpinning the Basalt Vision concept is Citroën's C-Cubed program, which focuses on developing models tailored specifically to the demands of the Indian and South American markets. As the third model in this initiative, the Basalt Vision concept joins the Citroën C3 and C3 Aircross, underscoring the brand's commitment to international growth and customer-centric innovation.

Citroën emphasizes that the Basalt name will be retained for the production version of the vehicle, signaling continuity and consistency with the concept's design ethos. The concept promises to deliver a well-balanced silhouette, offering ample space and comfort onboard, hallmarks of Citroën's signature design philosophy.

Development of the Basalt Vision concept involved collaboration between Citroën's teams at the brand's headquarters and regional offices, ensuring that the vehicle meets the unique requirements and preferences of customers in India and South America. From its inception, the Basalt Vision concept has been envisioned as a forward-thinking solution to urban mobility challenges, combining style, practicality, and cutting-edge technology.

Citroën's CEO, Thierry Koskas, expressed enthusiasm for the Basalt Vision concept, highlighting its potential to drive the brand's international growth and expand its presence in key markets. With its distinctive design language and focus on customer satisfaction, the Basalt Vision concept aims to appeal to a wide range of consumers, including young professionals and families seeking a versatile and comfortable vehicle for urban and suburban environments.

Set to debut in the second half of 2024, the Basalt Vision concept represents a significant milestone in Citroën's global strategy, signaling the brand's commitment to innovation and excellence in automotive design. As the automotive landscape continues to evolve, Citroën remains dedicated to pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional vehicles that exceed customer expectations.
