2003 SEAT Altea Concept

The 2003 SEAT Altea Concept, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, serves as a precursor to the upcoming production model set to launch in 2004. This prototype marks a significant collaboration between SEAT and the Audi Brand Group, showcasing a fresh design approach for the company.

The Altea Prototipo features a distinctive wide radiator grille paired with headlights reminiscent of cat's eyes, contributing to its striking front profile. A pronounced line runs down the sides to the rear wheel arches, a characteristic design element of all new SEAT models, creating a cohesive aesthetic. From a profile view, the car presents a seamless look, making it challenging to distinguish where the hood ends, where the cabin begins, and where the trunk starts, lending it a monolithic appearance.

SEAT categorizes the Altea as a Multi Sport Vehicle, emphasizing its multifunctionality alongside sporty characteristics. The concept boasts a carefully engineered aerodynamic body, accommodating four individual seats, and is fitted with 19-inch wheels paired with low-profile tires for enhanced performance and visual appeal.

Powering the Altea Prototipo is a 2.0-liter FSI petrol engine that delivers 150 horsepower. It features a 6-speed automatic sequential Tiptronic gearbox for an engaging driving experience. Additionally, the prototype incorporates SEAT's innovative Dynamic Steering Response (DSR) system, designed to improve steering performance, further enhancing the vehicle's dynamic handling capabilities. This concept reflects SEAT's ambition to blend sporty design with practicality and advanced engineering.
