2001 Hyundai TB Concept

Hyundai Motor presented the TB Concept Car at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, outlining a significant return to small car values. The TB Concept Car exemplified a commitment to economy and energy conservation while pushing the boundaries of compact and lightweight design without compromising quality.

Measuring less than four meters in length, 1.6 meters in height, and under 1.5 meters in width, the TB Concept Car managed to comfortably and safely accommodate a family of five. It embraced the essence of original small cars, offering a pleasant environment for family mobility within an ultra-compact framework.

Equipped with a four-cylinder 1.3-liter engine coupled with an electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission, the TB Concept Car presented a versatile and dynamic urban-focused drivetrain package. The styling of the concept closely resembled the final shape of Hyundai Motor's upcoming small car model, slated for a world debut the following year. This small car model also served as the foundation for the Clix concept showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Hyundai's new super-mini, featuring an all-new one-liter engine in its final production, was poised to play a pivotal role in Hyundai Motor's global product development strategy. This concept underscored Hyundai's commitment to providing efficient and compact vehicles that catered to the evolving needs of urban mobility, demonstrating a harmonious blend of practicality and innovation.
