Pininfarina presented the Abarth 1000 Spyder Speciale concept at the Turin Motor Show in November 1964. The power of the rear-mounted Fiat engine was increased to 54 hp. A long strip of glazing surrounded the cabin. The nose, together with the front optics, was covered by a single glass dome, which, although it looked unusual, made it vulnerable to the slightest collision. No weather protection was provided.
