2002 Suzuki Lapin Pickup Truck Concept

The Suzuki Lapin Pickup Truck Concept was a playful twist on the 5-door Lapin kei car, which Suzuki introduced in 2002. Debuting alongside the production Lapin at the 36th Tokyo Motor Show, this concept transformed the rear of the Lapin into a small cargo bed, inspired by the styling of classic American pickup trucks. With a cargo bed measuring 1.3 meters long by 1.25 meters wide, the concept had enough space to carry a 50cc Suzuki “Street Magic” motorcycle or a mountain bike, making it surprisingly practical for its size.

Despite its charm and utility, the Lapin Pickup remained a one-off show vehicle and never went into production. The concept, however, showcased Suzuki's creativity and flair for reimagining its kei car designs in fun, utility-focused formats.
