2000 Peugeot Promethee Concept

The 2000 Peugeot Promethee Concept stands as a forward-looking showcase, embodying innovative ideas that could potentially influence the next generation of Peugeot models. Unveiled at the Paris Mondial as a 'show car,' the Promethee transcends mere caricature with its striking design, combining dynamism, cleanliness, and quiet operation. The inclusion of an HDI diesel engine with a particle filter (FAP) and a two-drive-wheel mechanical transmission underscores its adaptability for both road and off-road tracks.

Externally, the car's metallic grey bodywork, adorned with solid metal door frames, presents an appealing square shape that is complemented by large wheels. Modernizing the classic wood-trimmed aesthetic, the exterior features polished aluminum with a light satin finish. The front end showcases a flowing and dynamic sequence of bonnet, windscreen pillars, and roof, skillfully balancing elegance and power. Access to the interior is facilitated by three doors and a tailgate, each operable via infrared remote control.

In terms of design, the almond-shaped headlights and distinctive rear lights contribute to the modern identity of the Promethee. The inclusion of lightweight alloy wheels with Michelin Pax tires not only enhances aesthetics but also eliminates the need for a spare wheel, aligning with a more streamlined approach.

Stepping inside, the Promethee's interior is configured to accommodate four passengers, with the flexibility to transform into a two-seater estate. The integration of metallic instruments, central controls, and a multimedia area with a 16/9 color screen underscores the modernity of the cabin. A central console extending to the rear seats offers additional storage space and houses a DVD player equipped with screens.

Functionality meets comfort with electrically adjustable front seats and electrically controlled folding rear seatbacks, enhancing the interior's adaptability. The split-level boot, devoid of a spare wheel, is optimized for practical storage solutions, featuring specially adapted aluminum cases.

In conclusion, the Peugeot Promethee Concept serves as a testament to Peugeot's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive design and technology, offering a glimpse into a potential future where innovation meets practicality.
