The 2000 Peugeot E-doll Concept, part of Peugeot's whimsical "city toyz" series, challenges conventional automotive seriousness with its cartoonish appearance and playful design. Measuring approximately 2.5 meters in length, the E-doll embraces a lighthearted approach, evident in its unconventional features.
The transparent trunk of the E-doll serves a dual purpose, functioning as a detachable trolley on wheels designed for navigating the aisles of a supermarket. Structurally similar to golf carts, each wheel is powered by an electric motor from a Peugeot electric scooter, employing a V-belt mechanism. The steering mechanism mimics that of a motorcycle, adding to its unconventional charm.
Intended to appeal to the younger generation, the E-doll's finished design, however, may be considered somewhat tacky, challenging the idea of a self-respecting teenager willingly driving it around town. With seating for three, including the driver positioned in the center, the E-doll adopts a motorcycle-like handlebar for control instead of a traditional steering wheel.
A distinctive feature of the E-doll is its rear transparent shopping cart, designed for convenience. To draw attention to this feature, Peugeot opted for a playful touch by filling it with hundreds of multicolored plastic balls.
Powering the Peugeot E-doll are a couple of electric motors, aligning with the concept's focus on quirky design and urban mobility.
The E-doll Concept represents Peugeot's exploration of unconventional and playful concepts, inviting a sense of humor into the realm of automotive design.
