This car, developed in conjunction with Seat, was the proposed future mid-range car for the Spanish manufacturer: it entered production in 1991 as the Seat Toledo. Introduced as a solid epowood model at the Frankfurt motor show in 1989 named the Proto T, the car gained an interior passenger compartment at the next Geneva motor show. It became known as the 1990 Seat Proto TL by ItalDesign.
