The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray “Sue Earl Special” was a unique, one-off creation made to special order for Harley Earl's wife, Sue Earl. The car was given Special Order 10324 and was finished in a non-factory Pink Pearl, a special color choice not seen on standard Corvettes of that era.
To cater to Sue Earl’s preferences, several modifications were made to the original design of the 1963 C2 Sting Ray. One of the most notable changes was the replacement of the rear split window—a signature feature of the 1963 model—with the single-piece rear window that would become standard on 1964 Sting Ray coupes. This modification improved visibility and streamlined the car's overall appearance. Additionally, the car was fitted with a larger rearview mirror sourced from a Chevrolet Impala, further enhancing driver visibility. For better ventilation, B-pillar vents were also added, ensuring more airflow and comfort inside the car.
The Sue Earl Special was a distinctive, personalized version of the iconic C2 Sting Ray, making it a rare and fascinating piece of Corvette history.
