1982 Land Rover Range Rover 'Popemobile' by Ogle

The first bulletproof Popemobile was built following the first assassination attempt on John Paul II in 1981. The British design firm of Ogle crafted the first bulletproof Popemobile on a Range Rover chassis. The Rover took the precedent set in the design of the 230 G and enclosed the cabin, adding bulletproof glass for a visit to the UK. The raised “telephone booth” at the rear raises the car's overall height to 102 inches.
