Giovanni Michelotti died in 1980 at the age of 58. His son Edgardo continued his father's work until 1990. The last exhibited car of the Michelotti company was the "Villedeuxmille" shown in 1990 at the Turin Motor Show (only as a nonfunctional maquette). After that, the name "Michelotti" vanished out of the circle of car designers.
