Before the 1985 Guide II was the 1977 Nissan Guide I. The EV Guide II was exhibited at the 26th Tokyo Motor Show in 1985 and is a one-box type, six-seater electric car (remodeled after the show to add a roof). The clean performance of this electric car made it ideal for transporting royalty and other state guests on VIP factory visits, and it performed admirably as a guide car for many years.
